BACHILLERATO 1 INTEGRATED PROJECT

The final task of the Integrated Project will be a video elaborated by the students in groups of 4-5 people. Some of the activities will be carried out in class, but others will have to be done out of school, such as the recording itself most probably.

Your video should last at least 3 minutes, depending on how many people there are in your group. Make sure that all members of the group participate as actors in a balanced way.

Steps:

  • think about, agree and decide about the plot / the setting(s) / the characters (all the members of the group must participate as actors) / the costumes.
  • write the script with the help of the functions practised in the previous term, the ones that appear in the speaking section from page 103 to 117 in your textbook Living English, Wordreference for vocabulary and pronunciation, etc.
  • hand in the script to the teacher for correction. The script should be typed double-spaced.
  • learn from your teacher’s corrections
  • rehearse
  • record the different scenes (not in the classroom)
  • get familiar with the software to make the film: Movie maker; dotsub.com
  • make the recorded scenes into a film by using the software aforementioned, with presentation and credits
  • add subtitles
  • present all videos to the rest of the class and for assessment

· The things you’ve learnt from doing your video.

· A personal evaluation.

DEADLINES

1. The scripts should be handed in to the teacher on paper by 30th April.

  1. The videos should be given to the teacher on a pen drive by 28th May.
  2. SOME USEFUL ADVICE BEFORE YOU START RECORDING
  • Use the same camera for all the scenes so as to avoid technical problems.
  • Plan each scene before recording –prepare everything you need, a pizza, a microphone, etc.
  • Choose the best light and a silent setting –the street can be so noisy!
  • Speak SLOWLY, CLEARLY and LOUDLY.
  • If necessary, divide up each scene into smaller segments so it is easier to perform.
  • Help each other in the correction of pronunciation and in every other aspect.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: After pressing the recording button, wait two seconds before starting to act and after finishing a scene, remain motionless another two seconds before pressing the button again.
  • Repeat the scene or the part of a scene as many times as necessary until you’re satisfied enough with the result –if you get stuck, try performing it without recording first.
  • AND HAVE FUN!!!
