CAS Learning Outcomes

There is no firm rule in regards to the amount or kind of evidence that you need to provide. Evidence should be age-appropriate and reflect you as an individual student and your CAS experience itself. It should be added regularly and when appropriate for the CAS stages within each CAS experience.

Note: Decisions on whether you have achieved the learning outcomes are made on the evidence provided in your CAS portfolio on Managebac, in addition to the information gathered during CAS interviews

Understanding the learning outcomes

Your CAS coordinator, CAS advisers and other staff involved in your CAS journey need to be able to share a common understanding of you as an individual in order to support you effectively.

For example, with the term “challenges”, some students may find that a 'challenge' involves taking on a completely new CAS experience with unfamiliar people. For other students 'challenge' be an extension of an existing one.

The following chart shows specific descriptors for each learning outcome. These descriptors are only suggestions.

Note: It is the CAS coordinator’s final decision as to whether the student has achieved the outcome.
