Pan-African Union
(description and TO&E data borrowed from stargrunt.ca)
Following the end of the Second Solar War, the Pan African Union has strengthened its associations with the FSE and ESU. The last 30 years has seen a significant modernization with much of the heavy equipment and weapon systems provided through contracts with FSE and ESU arms dealers. The PAU values the principle of flexibility in warfare and its army and paramilitary forces have developed with this very much in focus.
Africa on Terra is also a source of several semi-autonomous mercenary units, all of whom are regulated through the MRBC.
Pan-African forces are commonly equipped with Russo-Chinese equipment, though more wealthy independent armies purchase weapons from the FSE.
Union Standard Battledress: While available to all units, Body Armour will be worn depending on the operation to be undertaken or the operating environment. Standard issue PAU body armour consists of a simple ballistic cloth and ceramic plate bib design covering from neck to crotch in the front but only to the waist in the rear, leaving the arms and legs bare and unobstructed. PAU body armor incorporates chest webbing ammo pouches for the SAR-4 and MAG-79. A wide and deep compressed composite helmet provides exceptional protection for the head without inhibiting air circulation.

SAR-4 Automatic Rifle: Type: Advanced assault rifle.
FIREPOWER: 2; IMPACT: D10
Easily identified by the distinctive banana shaped magazine, the PAU produced SAR-4 is a heavy calibre assault rifle ideally suited to jungle or urban warfare. Firing a 7mm conventional round the lack of accuracy at long range is made up for by the high rate of fire. Robust and simple design has enabled the SAR-4 to be mass produced on colonies with the simplest industry base.
KI-95 Anti-Personnel Weapon: Type: Advanced assault rifle.
FIREPOWER: 2; IMPACT: D10
This is a 7mm assault carbine designed for use with power armor, purchased from the ESU.
MAG-79 Squad Automatic Weapon: Type: Squad Support Weapon.
FIREPOWER: D10; IMPACT: D10
The MAG-79 is a disintegrating-link belt or magazine fed Light Support Weapon, firing the same round as the SAR-4. Utilizing many similar components to the SAR-4 ensures successful field repairs and continued operation under extremely arduous conditions.
VK20 Assault Cannon: Type: Man-portable RFAC/1.
FIREPOWER: D10; IMPACT: D12
20mm Rapid-Fire Cannon for use with the CK Mod.II Power Armor system, purchased from the ESU.
Leopard IAVR System: Type: Multiple-shot IAVR
FIREPOWER: D10; IMPACT: D12*
Another locally designed and produced weapon, the quad-barrel Leopard MIAVR has proved particularly popular with assault units. Utilizing a 55mm warhead solid fuel rocket the MIAVR design enables rapid engagement of an armoured target without the usual delay associated with readying additional missiles or reloads. Whilst technically capable of simultaneous firing all four rockets, disastrous and fatal testing has effectively deterred this in the field. Fitted with an Image Intensifier sight the MIAVR is capable of engaging targets in very low light.
