US, UK & Israel behind Iraq Mosque Bombing?
“CUI BONO?” is a legal maxim that means “who benefits?” In looking for the perpetrators of atrocities such as the bombing of the holy Shi’ite shrine of the al-Askari Mosque of Samarra, Iraq, we should consider benefit (Cui bono?), motive, ability and track record.
While various Muslim groups have been implicated by lying, Western mainstream media in this blasphemous atrocity, it is clear that none of these groups could conceivably benefit from this act and it really strains credibility to believe that any sane Muslim could be guilty of this appalling crime.
Decent people throughout the world should take very seriously the comments by Robert Fisk (the Beirut-based British journalist who is the world's top Middle Eastern affairs commentator). Robert Fisk is very properly circumspect (because, not surprisingly, he is not actually privy to the identities of the perpetrators) but he clearly points to Coalition complicity in the mosque bombing and subsequent atrocities through Coalition support of Iraq government death squads (see the transcript of interview with Tony Jones, ABC TV, Lateline:
"Iraqi is not Bosnia. Iraqi is not Bosnia. Iraqi is not Bosnia. Iraqi is not Bosnia. We discovered here in Lebanon - and this city I'm talking to you from - that, during the civil war, which lasted from 1975 to 1990 and killed 150,000 people, that there were many outside powers involved in promoting death squads and militias here, and paying militias, not just Arab powers, but European powers were involved in stirring the pot in Lebanon. I think we're being very naive. Just because I can't give you the detail, like, of who ordered this death squad, doesn't prevent us saying that something is wrong with the narrative we're being given the press, from the West, from the Americans, from the Iraqi Government. There is something going wrong. Iraqis are not suicidal people. They don't go around blowing up mosques every day. It's not a natural thing for them to do. It's never happened before. I can't say to you, "Well, ok, here is the person who killed this person, or here's the person who left this explosive truck." All I am saying to you is that it is time we said, "Hang on a minute, this is not how it looks." Robert Fisk further commented:
"The real question I ask myself is: who are these people who are trying to provoke the civil war? Now the Americans will say it's Al Qaeda, it's the Sunni insurgents. It is the death squads. Many of the death squads work for the Ministry of Interior. Who runs the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad? Who pays the Ministry of the Interior? Who pays the militia men who make up the death squads? We do, the occupation authorities."
Eminent writer John Kaminski in a cogent article entitled "Sick strategies for senseless slaughter" provides a lot of astonishing anecdotal evidence for direct US involvement in terrorist atrocities in Iraq.
The recent arrest of two British undercover agents driving a booby-trapped car and who fired on Iraqi police (and their subsequent forcible release by British forces) clearly indicates that the British are up to the same "dirty tricks" (for a detailed analysis see Michel Chossudovsky "British under-cover soldiers caught driving booby-trapped car"
Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has blamed the US and the Israelis for the destruction of the al-Askari Mosque in Samarra on the basis that the Americans and Zionists are the only people clearly benefiting from the outrage (see: here= and Dahr Jamail’s analysis in MWC News: ).
Indeed the Americans and the Israelis had not only the motive, but also the access, the technical ability and an extensive record of “dirty tricks” throughout the world (e.g. see: Philip Agee, “Inside the Company: CIA Diary” (Penguin, London, 1975); Gordon Thomas, “Gideon’s Spies. The secret history of the Mossad” (Pan, London, 2000)).
America’s most famous scholar, Noam Chomsky, had no illusions about US state terrorism in November 2001 - at the commencement of the post-9/11 Bush Administration carnage that caused 2.5 million excess deaths around the world (see ” The United States is a leading terrorist state”, Monthly Review, November, 2001: ). The UK and the US are indeed the world’s worst terrorist states (see MWC News:).
US state terrorism and covert terrorism are not recent phenomena. Thus back in the 1960s the US trained and funded "terrorist" squads who went around Ecuador blowing up Catholic Churches - the rationale being that the citizens of Catholic Ecuador would assume that the Communists were responsible. THE AWFUL TRUTH is that the US, the UK and the Israeli all benefit ENORMOUSLY from "terrorism". The military-industrial complexes of all three "rogue states" benefit enormously from "terrorism" and war - the EXTRA profit to the US military-industrial complex alone since 9/11 is about US$500 billion. The US and UK benefit in terms of resource control (oil) and security. Israel benefits enormously from CONTINUING ILLEGAL OCCUPATION of ALL of Palestine and a significant part of Syria - Israel's continuing criminal occupation and illegal settlement policies are SECRETLY supported by the West for resource and strategic reasons and PUBLICLY supported over the convenient issue of on-going "terrorism" (see: here).
The most remarkable things about the "War on Terror" are the sheer DISPARITY of casualties on either side and MAINSTREAM MEDIA NON-REPORTAGE about the consequences of Muslim-origin "non-state terrorism" and US "state terrorism". Thus:
REPORTED: about 5,000 Western civilians have been murdered by Muslim-origin "non-state terrorism" over the last 20 years.
NON-REPORTED: there have been 2.5 million post-9/11 excess (avoidable deaths) due to US "state terrorism" - 2.1 million post-invasion excess deaths in Occupied Iraq and Afghanistan and about 0.4 million opioid drug-related deaths due to US restoration of the Afghan opium industry destroyed by the Taliban in 2000-2001 (for details see: Newsvine at , MWC News and here ).

While mainstream Western media will have us believe the most implausible stories (such as Muslims against all reason destroying one of their holiest mosques), any “alternative hypotheses” become “conspiracy theories” variously carrying attributes of idiocy, hysteria, secret agenda and ideological bias.
What the long-suffering public probably does not generally realize is that Science is about critically testing potentially falsifiable hypotheses. In contrast, media and political Spin is the utter converse of Science and is typically about carefully and selectively promulgating assertions that support a political agenda. Sensible, testable “non-mainstream” models of who was responsible for the al-Askari Mosque atrocity or the 9/11 atrocity are only “conspiracy theories” to anti-scientific “spin-merchants” – to scientists they are “potentially falsifiable scientific hypotheses”.
Peace is the only way – violence is wrong and is typically counter-productive. Top “terrorism experts” are UNEQUIVOCAL in stating that on-going Western violence against Muslims is exacerbating the "terrorist threat" – but what is the actual “terrorist threat”? REMARKABLY UN-REPORTED by lying mainstream media, the "ANNUAL RISK OF DYING" is about 1/1,000,000 (Westerner civilian at the hands of a Muslim origin non-state terrorist), 1/100,000 (by the hand of a family member or acquaintance), 1/10,000 (Westerner from car accident), 1/1,000 (from cigarette smoking), 1/100 (citizen of US-occupied Iraq) and 1/18 (under-5 year old infant in Coalition-occupied Afghanistan)(an immense, continuing Coalition war crime against defenceless infants and their mothers).
“Threats” aside, IN ACTUALITY assertedly "Muslim-origin non-state terrorism" has killed 5,000 Westerners over 20 years (assuming no US or Israeli complicity in 9/11) but this has led to 2.5 MILLION post-9/11 avoidable deaths due to US "state terrorism". Faced with these extraordinary facts we are compelled to ask: how much of the assertedly "Muslim-origin non-state terrorism" is DIRECTLY due to US, UK and Israeli backing? We at least know that the UK and the US backed Al Qaeda for at least a decade in Central Asia and for half a decade longer in the Balkans. What about the rest? The historical evidential record makes it quite clear that the European Occupiers have a major complicity in “indigenous terrorism” in both Palestine and Iraq through (a) deliberate exacerbation, (b) non-provision of security and (c) covert “dirty tricks”.
As an Australian I have a major concern that AUSTRALIA is at great potential risk from US, UK and Israeli covert “state terrorism” - they operate here with the full support of Government, the Opposition, Intelligence, the Media and indeed the People but what will happen when they find compelling political and strategic ADVANTAGES in mass killing of Australians in a terrorist atrocity (e.g. public hysteria, backlash fascism, mass violence against Muslims, massive arrests of dissidents, huge promotion of the “endless” Orwellian War on Terror)?
I have informed virtually ALL members of Australian Federal Parliament and major Australian mainstream media of these serious concerns and also formally raised the serious threat to Australians from US state terrorism in a 2 dozen page Submission to an Australian Senate Inquiry into Anti-terrorism legislation (see: Senate Inquiry submission #112: and MWC News: ). Australia is gripped by Islamophobic “terror hysteria” but is looking in the wrong direction.
