Larry Levy

Larry Levy is a prolific writer about gaming and the gaming scene.  In addition to his Opinionated Gamers efforts, he has written articles and game reviews for Counter, Boardgame News, Gamers Alliance Report, The Games Journal, The Game Report, and other gaming periodicals.  He is one of the jury members for the International Gamers Awards and has administered the Meeples Choice Awards since 2003.  He is also well known for his Designer of the Year articles; he wrote the first of these in 2004 and they have become an annual tradition.

Larry's love of games began when he was a young child and has never left him.  At various times, he has enthusiastically embraced traditional board games, card games (including a 40-year love affair with Bridge), roleplaying games, Chess, sports simulations, and even a little wargaming.  In 1998, an article in Games Magazine led him to Ken Tidwell's wonderful Game Cabinet, which exposed him to the amazing world of Eurogames.  They have been his principal love ever since.

Like many gamers, Larry is an amateur game designer.  He has quite a few games listed on Boardgame Geek and has even had one published (Loot of Lima).  The latter is derived from what is probably his best known design, Deduce or Die, the world’s hardest deduction game.

Larry is retired and he and his wife live in their Forever Home in North Carolina.  He belongs to several gaming groups and is always on the lookout for more!
