Cycle rally organized as a part of ‘I Love Arctic’ campaign of Green Peace. Cycle rally was conducted from Kanakakkunnu Palace to Sanghumugham Beach in connection with ‘I Love Arctic’ campaign initiated by Green Peace. The cycle rally in Thiruvananthapuram was organized jointly by Indus Cycling Embassy, LNCPE (Laxmi Bai National Centre for Physical Education) and Green peace volunteers.
More than 50 cyclists ride through the stretch from Kanakakkunnu Palace to Sanghumugham. The rally was flagged off by Sri Sanal Kumar, S.P., Vigilance at 3.30pm. The rally was given a warm reception by general public at around 4.30 pm in the beach. The highlight of the event was the presence of a mascot in the form a polar bear, symbolizing the animals in polar habitat, which is worst affected by arctic melting.
The Mascot is send by Green Peace to India and it is its first appearance in India. More than 50 cyclists ride through the stretch from Kanakakkunnu Palace to Sanghumugham.
