2. Study Sites

1. Southern Japanese Alps (central Japan, Oi River basin)

・Effect of forest vegetation on the slope stability

Roots supporting soil layers(Ikawa University Forest, University of Tsukuba, Shizuoka, Japan)

2. Ohya landslide (central Japan, Abe River basin)

Initiation and development of debris flows

Initiation and development of debris flow is not poorly understood because of lack of field data. We moniter flow characteristics of debris flow in the initiation zone. We also observe changes in topography and hydrological processes that are important to explain initiation and development of debris flows.

Measurement of channel deposits in debris flow the initiation zone

3. Osawa landslide (Mt. Fuji, Japan)

4. Matter Valley (Swiss)
