For over 50 years, the Illinois Division of the Izaak Walton League of America has been supporting the ecosystem at Shawnee National Forest through the Tree Certificate Program. Equal portions of the funds go to tree planting at Shawnee and to funding the Illinois Division Scholarship Fund which awards scholarship money to graduating high school seniors attending college to study forestry or conservation.
