Duties and Responsibilities for Editors and Board Members

    1. All Editors and Board members of IJGE are required to make a commitment and provide services to the Journal, such as,

      • actively promoting the Journal,

      • contributing own papers (at least one per 2-year term) and/or soliciting high quality papers (one or more per year), and

      • reviewing manuscripts (one to two per year).

    2. A member must be fair and hold a high and reasonable standard in evaluating manuscripts. It is the duty of the member to ensure that the accepted manuscript meets the journal standard.

    3. The Editor-in-Chief is ultimately responsible for the quality and reputation of the journal, and oversees the journal operation and publication of the accepted papers, including supervision of the office staff and assistants.

    4. The Honorary Editor shares the responsibilities with the Editor-in-Chief for the quality and reputation of the journal, and may contribute to manuscripts review.

    5. The Section / Executive Editors, reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, share the responsibilities with the Editor-in-Chief for the quality and reputation of the assigned Sections, will engage continuously in manuscript solicitation, manage the paper review process, and eventually make recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief.

    6. The Associate Editors will also engage continuously in manuscript solicitation and assist in manuscripts review. They may be assigned the responsibility of the entire review process of selected manuscripts and report the outcome to the Section / Executive Editor of a section, or the Editor-in-Chief, as the case may be.
