April 17th will be our first day of matches. Once the weather breaks, practice rounds can begin on Mondays.
Due to the 4th of July falling on Tuesday, we have a rain week built in to the schedule this year if we need it.
Dues for this year will be $310. $80 in April, May and June. $70 in July. Be sure to get your first payment in, or Kenny will ask for an extra $5 the following week.
We paid $132 for our Christmas party for food. This was $34 more than last year. If you have any options for next year's end of year party, talk to an officer.
We discussed the sand/rock traps. Do we rake and place, play them as they lie, move loose impediments? This will be discussed at the next meeting voted on if enough are in attendance.
We discussed pace of play. Trying to find ways to speed up the rounds with out breaking in to twosomes or trying a shotgun start.
A couple ideas:
The rest of your group hits while you look for your ball
Hit when ready - make sure someone is watching you hit so they can follow your ball
Putting. If you putt, then have a 3 footer remaining, take a second and finish your putt. Marking and waiting your turn again will take longer.
Putting. Line up your putt while others are putting/getting ready to putt. Be courteous and don't get in their line of sight or step in their line.
Water Hazard on #7. Railroad ties are considered part of the hazard. Assume they are the red line and if your ball clears the ties, but is up against them, you can take a drop with a penalty, or try to punch it out. No free drops.
Clarification on Red and Yellow stakes and where you can place your ball will be made available at the next meeting.
Several gold tees will be moving from last year. This may effect the handicaps, but we will need to talk to Duck Hollow about the changes as we get closer to the March meeting.
If you would like to hit from the Gold tees this year, please speak with one of the officers so it can be discussed and voted on by the officers before the March meeting.
It was mentioned about adding the rules for tournaments and outings to our rule book.
The next meeting will be on February 20th at Darbys.
