この度、2月5日(日)にIDDP2022-23年度の第5回勉強会を開催する運びとなりました。
本勉強会では『YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT』と題し、国際的なユースワークの実践者であるをLucy Plummer様をお招きし、彼女のCOP26/27やUNEA 5.2における活動等や大学・大学院での学びを通し、青年世代が持続的な開発の達成に向けてどのように貢献していくかを考えていきます。また、本勉強会はロンドンのSOASの施設にて、対面・英語での開催となります。

-概要-
サセックス大学のSustainable Development MScにて学ばれ、国連や国際NGO、NHSやBank of Englandといった団体と共に、環境や気候に関するイベントを青年に向けに開催してきた登壇者の知見・経験を基に、持続可能な開発に対し、青年がどう参加・貢献していけるかを考えます。本勉強会では、登壇者の大学院等でのアカデミックな学びと、卒業後に行ってきた実践的な活動の二軸で進めていく予定です。「持続可能な開発」や「青年の参加」といったキーワードにご興味がある方はぜひご参加下さい。また、今回はロンドンにて対面で開催する予定のため、登壇者を含めて対面でのネットワーキングができる機会になります。お申込者には上限があるため、ご興味がある方はお早めにお申込みください。

We are pleased to announce our fifth study session for IDDP 2022-23 on Sunday 5 February.
This study session, entitled 'YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT', invites Ms Lucy Plummer, an international youth work practitioner, to discuss her activities at COP 26/27 and UNEA 5.2, as well as her university and postgraduate studies. The workshop will consider how the youth generation can contribute towards the achievement of sustainable development. The workshop will be held at SOAS in London, face-to-face and in English.

-Summary -
Based on the knowledge and experiences of the speaker, who studied MSc Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex and has worked with the UN, international NGOs and organisations such as the NHS and Bank of England to organise environmental and climate events for young people, this session will consider how young people can participate and contribute to sustainable development. The session will be based on the speakers' academic studies at graduate school and practical activities they have undertaken after graduation. Those interested in keywords such as 'sustainable development' and 'youth participation' are welcome to attend. This will also be an opportunity for face-to-face networking, including with the speakers, as the event will be held face-to-face in London. There is a limit to the number of applicants, so if you are interested in attending, please register as soon as possible.

-About the guest speaker-
Lucy Plummer様
Lucy is an experienced international Youth Work practitioner with over 12 years of professional experience working with and for young people. Lucy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Studies from London Metropolitan University (2014) and a Master’s in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex (2021). For her Master's thesis, Lucy conducted research into the ways in which intergenerational power dynamics shape youth participatory outcomes in environmental policy-making processes. Lucy currently works as a Youth participation coordinator and has worked with partners including, UNESCO MGIEP, NHS, Bank of England, WWF, and Religions for Peace, helping to strengthen provisions for youth participation. As a Buddhist, Lucy is active in various interfaith initiatives, including co-ordinating interfaith youth events at several international climate and environmental conferences, including COP26, COP27, and UNEA 5.2. Lucy serves as a member of the UNEP UK Youth Faith Council and the UNEP Interfaith Women’s Council.
