COVID-19 OVERSIGHT GROUP

RETURN TO PLAY

PRIOR TO RETURNING TO THE ARENA

  • All registration and forms must be completed PRIOR to arriving at the rink and must be done online.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • PHYSICAL DISTANCING

  • FOLLOW HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS (See Skate ontario.org and look at COVID-19 Resources and Return to Play)

  • Bring water bottle pre-filled (to minimize/reduce use of the refill station)

  • Warm up outside

  • Masks can be worn if you would like while skating, but it is not mandatory to do so

  • Change rooms may have capacity limits (there will be access to a washroom on main level)

  • Meet outside the doors just before session, coach will walk you in

  • wear a face covering whenever not engaging in skating

  • Wear a non-medical grade face mask when in open areas of the facility

  • Must wash/sanitize hands upon entry to the facility


DAILY HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE

In order to ensure the safety of everyone, all participants will be required to complete self screening health assessment prior to attending any session on any night. If you do not feel well, please do not come to the rink

You are required to answer:

  • honestly and truthfully

  • each night you come to skate


RESTRICTIONS TO PARTICIPATION (No longer in effect as of March 21, 2022)

  • Any individual who has someone in their household showing symptoms of COVID-19, should not participate in club/skating school activities.

  • Any members who themselves have travelled outside of Canada, or has someone in their household who has travelled outside Canada must self-isolate and not participate in club/skating school activities for 14 days.

  • Any individual who has been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 should self-isolate and is not permitted to participate in club/skating school activities for 14 days,

  • Any individual with symptoms of COVID-19 is not permitted to take part in club or skating school activities.


IF SOMEONE BECOMES UNWELL

  • If someone becomes unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, that individual must immediately stop participation in club or skating school activities and inform the coach immediately

  • The individual should be isolated from all others in a well-ventilated area, or outside and provided with a non-medical face mask if one is available

  • The individual shall be sent home and instructed to follow public health guidelines regarding self-isolation and testing

  • The facility should be informed in order to determine if any areas need to be closed off and/or require additional cleaning/disinfecting

  • A member of the COVID-19 Oversight Group should be informed of the situation and should contact the individual or their parent/guardian to determine if next steps are being taken regarding testing


WHAT IF A SKATER TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 DURING THE DURATION OF THE SESSIONS

  • If an individual tests positive for COVID-19, they should inform the coach and a member of the club/skating school COVID-19 Oversight Group.

  • The COVID-19 Oversight Group will work where requested with the facility and public health officials to assist in contact tracing.

  • The Session Participation tracking sheets may be used to assist public health officials in informing other club/skating school members who may have been in close contact with the individual.

  • Any club/skating school members who were in close contact with the individual should not participate in club/skating school activities for 14 days and should follow public health guidelines regarding self-isolation and testing.

  • All members would be informed of a positive COVID-19 result within the club/skating school setting.

  • We would inform and work with the facility in the case of a positive COVID-19 result and determine if any additional cleaning/disinfecting should be performed as per the facility’s guidelines

  • • The club/skating school will inform Skate Ontario of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis by emailing clubsupportservices@skateontario.org

  • They can only return to the activity after following public health guidelines.

  • The individual that was ill may only return to the club activities once they no longer have any symptoms of COVID-19.



WHAT IF THE RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED:

In the event we are able to have additional skaters on the ice, we will open the sessions up to additional registrants.

This is to allow for maximum participation along with financial recovery.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING STILL MUST BE ENFORCED AT ALL TIMES.
