Bio
Dr. Hye-Jung Lee amounted her expertise in education as the Director of e-Learning at Seoul National University(SNU), a research professor of Center for Teaching and Learning at SNU, a visiting scholar of Center for Highly Interactive Computing Education at University of Michigan, and a specially appointed associate professor of Center for Research and Development in Higher Education at Hokkaido University in Japan.
After Lee finished her Ph.D. in Educational Technology at SNU, she visited 25 top research universities in the world as a representative of SNU delegation and interviewed senior-level administrators: vice presidents, provosts, and directors that were in charge of quality assurance of university education and technology-enhanced learning.
After conducting collaborative research on learning differences between the East and the West at University of Michigan, Lee found the Institute for Education and Innovation(IEI) in Korea. Recently as the Director General of IEI, Lee has directed three research projects on reforming education and assessment for critical and creative competency upon request of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Jeju Provincial Office of Education, and Chungnam Provincial Office of Education, respectively.
Lee is more widely known as the author of provocative books, [Who gets an A+ at Seoul National University?] and [Exams in Korea: Changing Korea by Education Innovation], both of which received prominent media spotlight in recent years. Other various papers, columns, keynotes, and invited speeches of Lee on the quality education system are disseminated globally.
