Supervision is a critical component of counseling not only for supervisees but also supervisors. Even though supervisors hold the responsibility to prepare training counselors for the practice, they can learn so much from the supervision. Supervision helps counselors to be more effective in their sessions by having different perspectives.
I learned and practiced most of the skills related to supervision during my Doctoral Program. I provided group and individual supervision for Master`s students, served as a Teaching Assistant for Supervision classes and received supervision of supervision during the process.
