Driving Question: "Do fluctuations in motion coupled with the need of two magnets to complete a circuit affect the way that energy flows through said circuit?"
Materials: Rail-Twirler
Procedure: Throughout the entire procedure, I will be moving my wrist in a specific pattern that will bring out the optimal results in the sense of motion when it comes to the Rail Twirler's "spinner". All the while, I will be recording any changes in energy flow inside the twirler's circuits.
Scientific Principle(s): Law(s) of Motion: the Twirler is supposed to spin back and forth, speed up, and slow down; Magnetism: the Twirler is connected to the rail via magnet and that concept will be explored, if only to a small extent; Closed-Circuits: Within the twirler is a light that is only active when the rail and twirler are connected on both sides;Kinetic/Potential Energy: There's going to be a lot of motion and, due to that, there will be a lot of energy(both kinetic and potential) present.
Safety precautions: None; just don't poke your eye out.
