Questions And Answers

1. Why did you choose those three specific Geometric Solids?

These geometric solids are ones we use in every day life which is why we think these are the ones that should be used in this project. (Cylinders, Rectangle prisms or cubes, and triangular prisms). We prefer for all of them to be hollow but it is OK if they are not, 30 of each is preferred.)

2. Find other examples of using hexagons in daily life. Explain why we use hexagons specifically in those examples.

Hexagons are used for stop signs as a warning, they are also in places we do not notice such as on soccer balls or certain nuts.

3. What did you learn in this project? Summarize with 3 sentences.

With this project we learned that some things in nature are there for a reason. Beehives do not have hexagonal shapes just because it's there, but because they carry way more volume. Nature has lot's of geometry, you just have to dig deep to find it.

4. Why do you think these were the results?

In our opinion nature is never incorrect, and that is why bees use hexagons. Hexagons do not waste space and fit together like puzzle pieces. These shapes are amazing when it comes to storage and people have implemented this into their jobs and daily life. Nature chose these results and made them reoccur in our project.
