Throughout history honey has been used for many different things. You might think that people only ate it but some others thought that it could bring you luck. People began searching and finding honey more than eight thousand years ago. People also put it in their tombs and around their dead carcasses to be buried with them and taken to the afterlife. Speaking of the dead, some Egyptians covered dead bodies with honey before burial but other than that they used it for cooking and sweetening bland food.
How do we get honey? We either go to a beehive and find a way to get it without getting attacked by bees or we harvest bees like the Chinese began. Although it is unknown when it began we guess that it was a couple thousand years ago.
Health and religion, what??
People used honey for religious reasons as well as for health reasons. Honey was used to cure rashes and bruises a long time ago and is also still used to help cure throat pain. Different religions also mention honey many times such as in the Hebrew bible where it is mentioned many times and used to represent that the new year came. Honey is also a big deal in Hinduism because it is considered one of the magical immortality causers.
Honey has a lot of history behind it and affects people in a great way. It has been used for thousands of years for religious reasons, sweeteners, and health benefits. Honey will be used for a long time and will keep affecting people in different ways.
