Welcome!

Please keep in mind that you must consult your doctor, pharmacist, nurse, or other trusted health care professional before taking anything that might effect your overall health. In case of a poison emergency, know your local poison center hotline number.

My name is Emily Spencer, and I will be your teacher for this class, which I inherited from the wonderful Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis.  When I'm not busy on HOL, I work as a paramedic, so if you get lost in the gobbledygook  of terms please give me a yell.  You can reach me via  HOL PM Again, a big thank you to Prof. Scarlet for trusting me with this class!

Welcome to the Poisons classroom! Just to make sure, this is a class for POISONS, not POTIONS. Although I am sure you will not need them, I do hope you have some bezoars on hand.

Throughout the course of this class, you will learn about various types of poisons, including snake venom, cleaning products, poison ivy, and mushrooms. Like Paracelsus said, everything is a potential poison, so we will not be able to cover every poison, but I think you learn a few useful bits of information.

"All things are poisons, for there is nothing without poisonous qualities. It is only the dose which makes a thing poison." ~Paracelsus
