Tuition by Thanea or Maurice Hodges in Piano, Theory or Aural, including preparation for Associated Board exams up to and including diploma level.
The services of Maurice Hodges, a pianist with long experience of accompaniment, chamber music, concertos, orchestral playing and even playing in a ceilidh band!
The possibility of taking your ABRSM exam at our termly Private Visit, with the opportunity to rehearse with Maurice in the exam room as often as you wish.
Rehearsing and recording your ABRSM Performance Exam in the garden room (a responsible adult to do the recording).
We are very happy to accept duet bookings (four hands at one or two pianos). Performances have included the Brahms Requiem (Maurice's own duet arrangement of the orchestral score) with Cambridgeshire Choral Society and Andrew Parnell; two more performances with the New Cambridge Singers and Graham Walker, Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals and a concert with the New Cambridge Singers including Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes and Mathias' Learsongs. Maurice did the Brahms Requiem again on 9th April 2022 with Ely Choral Society, alongside a new work (Alpha and Omega) by Andrew Parnell (postponed from 2020), and also for a Cambridge Alumni come and sing performance directed by Dan Hyde in King's College Chapel in September 2022.
Maurice is always happy to consider producing arrangements and compositions, or inputting music on computer.
