Registrar M. Yadagiri said that by launching the national level academic journal from the university, the faculty member added one more feather to the budding university. He exhorted the academics and research scholars to improve the quality of their research work and go for extensive publishing in their areas of specialisation.
Raja Ram said that the journal would offer scope for the increased scientific research in the areas of arts and social sciences and for publication of quality research articles. Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor B. Venkataratnam said on Thursday that the publication of quality research papers and books is vital for academics and research scholars.
Releasing the special issue of The Indian Journal of Social Sciences Research (IJSSR) on the campus, he said that it is very important for academics and research scholars to pursue research and publish the same in order to contribute to their respective fields.
“It should be a constant motivation for the academics to achieve academic excellence and for the furtherance of the discipline of their study,” he said.
He lauded the efforts of journal editors - Kankata Raja Ram and Chalamalla Venkateshwarlu - in bringing out a quality research journal with International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), which gives the journal an international recognition.
The special issue of the IJSSR is on women's studies and contains 60 research papers from varied fields of arts and social sciences.
“It is a rare achievement for the young academics to bring out a quality research journal in the field of social sciences and the effort needs to be sustained without compromising on the quality,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the journal editors said that IJSSR provides a good platform for academics and research scholars. The next special issue of the IJSSR will deal with different aspects of the two decades of liberalisation process and its impact on various sectors of the country.
