HYDERABAD INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES (HISS) is an academic and research body aimed at promoting research and development in the fields of social sciences, arts, and humanities. It is an academic and research wing promoted under the aegis of the Centre for Community Development Initiatives (CCDI), a registered organisation, Hyderabad.
HISS is currently publishing a quarterly, Bi-annual academic research journals titles The Indian Journal of Social Sciences Research (IJSSR) with ISSN 2277-2227, The International Journal of Social Sceinces Research-IJSSR(Print & Online), Hyderabad Journal of Political Science-HJPS, and is also supporting the publication of another international quarterly journal titled The Asian Journal (TAJ): ISSN 2349-4271 (PRINT)
HISS has brought out an edited books titled "Women Empowerment: Socio-Economic, Political and Media Perspectives" with ISBN 978-93-5087-017-4. Globalisation and India, Independent India@66 and Right to Information Act: Indian Experiences.These book are compilation of thought-provoking and research-based articles/papers from all over India.
HISS has also published authored book titled "Human Rights and Media" with ISBN 978-93-5067-952-4. The book is highly useful for media and human rights students, academics, and professionals.
As part of its initiative to promote quality academic work, the HISS is now coming up with another edited book titled : Democracy, Decentralisation and Development" with ISBN. The book will be out in February/March 2015.
HISS promote its "HISS Academic Research Forum"
The future plans of the HISS include: organising international seminars, publish monographs, research studies, books with ISBN and journals in print and online versions with ISSN recognition to promote quality academic work in different disciplines of sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities.
