I'm an Associate Professor in the Math Department at Brooklyn College and at the CUNY Graduate Center. I received my PhD in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. My research lies in the fields of number theory and arithmetic geometry. I identify as a first generation college graduate.
My interactions with students and colleagues are built up from the following axioms written by Professor Federico Ardila at San Francisco State University:
Axiom 1. Mathematical potential is distributed equally among different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2. Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Axiom 3. Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
My research is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (DMS - 2201085) and The Professional Staff Congress and The City University of New York. In Spring 2024 and 2025, my research with undergraduates was partly supported by the Brooklyn College Tow Mentoring and Research Program.
In addition to my research and teaching, I am also a co-founder and co-organizer of the Rethinking Number Theory workshop series.
Here is my CV (updated June 2025)
Upcoming Math Events:
