Bosque del Apache Nov. 2012

Camping at Birdwatchers Park with the Levans to enjoy the annual waterfowl migration

Ready with our binoculars for the fly in to start

Carol enjoying the late afternoon sun

Here come the Snow Geese

Now the Sandhill Cranes make their approach

When it was too dark to photograph the moving birds, we enjoyed a lovely sunset afterglow

Our campsite with the Levans. Ken is enjoying his Kindle.

Old windmill near our campsite

I think the very mild Fall has delayed the arrival of many waterfowl. The field behind us appears to be empty.

Sandhill Cranes have a distinctive red patch on their heads

In spite of so few birds, we were treated to spectacular late afternoon glowing cottonwoods.

Compared to our first night, the temperature has dropped substantially. Ken made fun of my hat but warm is nice!

Another wonderful sunset.

Hope you enjoyed a virtual visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
