Hey! Who's been playing my Ukulele?
This week long class is intended to be an introduction to this fun and portable instrument. Starting with the basics, students will learn strumming, chord shapes and techniques that will get them playing and singing a variety of musical styles from traditional Hawaiian to modern Indie artists. We will look at the history of the ukulele, it's migration from Portugal to the Hawaiian Islands and eventually into the hearts of the western world. Students will increase the depth of their experience while listening to a large collection of ukulele music and by learning some basic music theory.
Loaner ukuleles will be available. Hawaiian shirts are optional.
