Course Descriptions
This course introduces students to the principles and theories of monetary economics. It covers the role of money in the economy, the functioning of financial markets, the determination of interest rates, and the implementation and impact of monetary policy and fiscal policy. Key topics include money supply and demand, inflation, the banking system, central banking, and international monetary systems. Furthermore, the course will supplement with articles related to current events and chapter topics from sources such as The Economist, Financial Times, and various economic articles. The course aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of how monetary factors influence economic performance and policy-making.
