When it comes to academic-related interests particularly that of Political Science, my interests are:
- Studying maps - From country-specific, to continent-specific, to the World map in general. I love memorizing important places, landmarks, capitals, oceans, mountains, deserts, and many more. Looking at maps fascinate me and makes me appreciate the world even more. This interest also includes any geographical features of any country. I also believe it's a duty for me to know all the countries of the world as part of my aim to become a global citizen.
- International Relations - Any news or reading material and documentaries related to how countries interact with each other are of my interest. I love reading up on bilateral and multilateral ties, cooperation on trade and development, intergovernmental organizations, and treatises as well as defence pacts. Basically anything to do with a country's or several countries' relationship(s) between themselves and others in the international arena are my food for thought.
- Strategic Studies - From a very young age I have been exposed to strategy simulation games such as SimsCity, Age of Empires, and Command and Conquer. On top of that, I have always loved watching documentaries on TV regarding warfare such as Korean War, World War II, and other military documentaries. I love hypothetical scenarios involving military defence strategies and coming up with solutions in national defence. My interest in strategic studies revolve around Countries' military capabilities that consider their geographic positions, natural resources, manpower, and manufacturing capabilities. Aside from the military point of view, I also take interest in diplomacy, peace-building and mutual relations that are part of strategic studies.
- Cultural Studies - Learning about other cultures, societies, traditions, and practices are also within my interests. I like to expand my knowledge and horizons beyond my own cultural backgrounds and love knowing other people's way of life, their beliefs, practices, traditions, and worldview. This is why I love learning about other countries because within it includes the topic of the country's culture and historical background.
- History - Lastly, my interests also include the study of World History. I am fond of learning world history whether it is history of a specific country, or a specific civilization, I enjoy expanding my knowledge in this subject as I believe it will aid me in understanding the world better and learn from the past so that I can relate with the future. Knowledge of history also allows me to appreciate the world better and how far mankind has come as a society and all of the technological advancements we have achieved. It also makes me appreciate the contributions and sacrifices made by our founding fathers.
