Alf the Apparition. (What about Will-o the Wisp?) A simple, but effective, Spook.
Algernon the Suit of Armour. No stately home is complete without one of these! I prefer to think of this figure as Sir Algernon, a knight in armour. One of the extra special Spooks making this a haunted house set.
Bertie the Bat. Unlike any bat seen before or since! And look at the size of the thing in comparison with the other Spooks - at least it doesn't seem to have fangs! Perhaps the uneven appearance was intended to suggest one wing being closer than the other in order to enhance the 3D effect?
George the Grandfather Clock. Reminding us, even in the dark, that it's midnight in the Haunted Manor. Why give a clock a name? Perhaps there were no witch marks on it and so some entity was able to take possession! Why George though? Kim suggests it's because the clock is from the Georgian era, or perhaps from the expression By George, is that the time? One of the extra special Spooks making this a haunted house set.
Sidney the Skull and Crossbones. The depth and detail indicate that this represents just what we see, i.e. a carved bas-relief memento mori (requiring a heavy duty frame and wall fixing if in stone!) and not the emblem on a pirate flag that I had taken it to be for many years! Is this an actual spook or just plain spooky? The skull is strangely lop-sided, as it is on all the examples I've seen. Stewart's was missing a part - note the skilful repair!
Tilly Tudor. Very ghostly indeed - I love the details on this figure! One of the extra special Spooks making this a haunted house set. IMHO the most impressive Spook of them all.
Whitie the Black Cat. A very big cat too! A terrific figure, warning you to stay away! The most purr-loined of the Spooks?
Winnie the Witch. Nicely detailed and given the stories told to small children, perhaps the scariest of all the Spooks. But how tragic that wise old women, possibly suffering mental decline, were ever seen as a threat to anyone.
