The illustrious seventh pontiff of Pejawar Adokshaja mutt is famous for adorning the feet of the Lord with ratna by his Padaratnavali work elaborating on the Bhagavata Tatparya Nirnaya of Srimad ACHARYARU. Padaratnavali was published from Vrindaban in 1905.The devotional fervour of the work earned the name Vijayadhwajeeyam for the Mahapurana.His other works are---commentary on the Yamaka Bharata,Dasavathara-Harigathastothra, krishnashtakam.
He is famous for having stopped rustling of leaves which was a disturbance while he was writing.The entrance arch to the Brindavan complex carries the figure of the saint in such a posture .Entrance is from NH17 between Mangalore and Kasargod---between Manjeshwar and Ullal stations.The place is known as Kanva Theertha where ACHARYARU founded the eight mutts for philosophical devotion.Starting from ACHARYARU , Vijayadhwajaru is the 8th pontiff in the eighth mutt.
Vijayadhwajaru's devotional scholarship attracted a large no of disciples that a seperate mutt branched off in 1450,known as Chitrapur Madhwa mutt.The mutt continues to this day at Kulai between Mangalore and Surathkal near Durga temple founded by Dwajaru,on Her visitation there.The present pontiff is Sri Vidya Vallabharu.
