As a research scholar (during my doctoral studies)- I have been in research as well as teaching and training the under-graduates. At Osmania University-Microbiology Dept.,
I worked as technical-consultant for a private research institutes/organizations where I designed & guided small scientific projects like pro-biotic s for ornamental fishes, PHB isolation and characterization from various bacteria, economical approach in single cell protein (SCP) production.
During my stay (PhD) in the department I designed many other interesting woks. In this journey students have been generous in expressing their appreciation of my enthusiasm for the material and my dedication to improving their approach and analytical abilities. I replicated gel electrophoresis equipment with recycled plastic material to separate the nucleic acids. I also tried to isolate the magnetotactic bacteria ( MTB) based on applied and geomagnetic forces.
I learned and mastered other related scientific methods during my post-doctoral research in Tel-Aviv University. I organized in 2012 a ‘RESEARCH VISION’ post-doctoral fellow meet in Tel-Aviv, Israel for all post-doctoral researchers of India.

POST-DOCTORAL INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE

I developed and trained young team in the industry towards quality work and production. I developed standard protocols (SOP) for the production of enzymes and pro-biotic. I streamlined the setup for the production of biotech products.
In this journey of establishment and R&D work, I could stabilize and increase the shelf life of enzymes (downstream) without the need of cold storage setup.
I designed sequential filtration set up for downstream processing of 2KL enzymes. I designed simple methods for purification and immobilization of high volume enzymes. I developed high active cellulase enzyme production method by replacing nitrogen sources with a fern and this I am going for paper publishing.
I prepared market acceptable granular form enzymes without any prior knowledge on granule preparation and spheronization. Presently i am working on two R&D projects on fungal statins, production, purification and Invitro and in-vivo assays (cell lines) and Synthesis of peptide based antibiotics, purification, antimicrobial assays and formulations.

Developed & established product aspects like scaling-up, purification and downstream stabilization of commercial grade enzymes (cellulase, amylase, lipase, xylanase phytase, protease and pectinase) in 2KL system. Thesis Title: “Studies on direct fermentation of cellulosic (banana and pongamia waste) biomass to ethanol”
Isolated ethanol tolerant anaerobic, mesophilic, thermophilic ethanologenic Clostridium sps from herbivorous animals (gut micro-flora) and insects.
Maintenance of anaerobic bacteria.
Production of bio ethanol from agricultural cellulosic biomass (bio-waste) in single-step anaerobic fermentation by thermophilic Clostridium thermocellum and mesophilic Clostridium sps.
Local agro-waste like banana, pongamia, Rice husk, sunflower stalk, groundnut shells etc., were included in the study for ethanol production.
Various treatments of biomass (water extraction, acid, alkali, steam etc.,) were investigated for better cellulose utilization by Clostridium sps.
Extensive Co-culture studies with thermophilic Clostridiumthermocellum were done to improve substrate utilization and ethanol production from untreated, treated biomass.
Other duties: Ordering and cataloguing, keeping financial records, maintaining current protocols manual and aid in writing papers, grants, proposals.
Teaching experience: Taught postgraduate labs (Microbiology, Molecular Biology) under the guidance of Prof. Gopal Reddy.
