Phonological awareness

In this section, you can find information about my main research interest: awareness about L2 phonology.

In this introductory text, you can learn about the differences between the traditional view on phonological awareness and a more recent SLA-based approach presented in my dissertation.

Here you can learn about the importance of L2 phonological awareness to foreign language pronunciation. Apart from the theoretical discussion, I will elaborate on why fostering phonological awareness should be a central aim in the foreign language classroom. I will also offer some insight on why learning to pronounce a foreign language is a difficult task.
