The French Mandate period

During the French Mandate period a French garrison scattered its buildings and structures all over the mound.

Traces of a larger garrison settlement (buildings, drill ground, rubbish pits) are found in 33 different squares. The gun emplacements on the hilltop were all oriented towards Nusaibin (where the allied English stood!). The aerial photographs of Poidebard show some of the garrison buildings.
