Sunday Brunch
In Halberton Village Hall, every Fifth Sunday through the year
Brunch runs from 10 am to 12 noon, and we provide a free café, Sunday papers, and craft activities for children.
We serve bacon & sausage baps, toast, fruit, and drinks.
Why do we do Brunch?
Way back in 2008 there was an initiative called Hope 08, calling churches to serve their communities, sharing faith in word and action. So, we started Brunch, and we've been doing it ever since.
The aim is to serve people. We give food & craft free as a way of demonstrating that God’s love is freely given. The reason that we give up a church service to run Brunch is that we understand that worship is about the way we live our whole lives. And by serving others we are actually worshipping.
This worship involves: inviting people to come, helping in the kitchen, running the craft, helping with the craft, serving food and drinks, waiting on tables, being there to talk to people, playing with children, setting up at 9am, buying the food, clearing up, playing games, putting up posters … there is something for everyone.
