The aim of this website is to give trainees in haematology a starting point for their revision, as well as to help understand some of the less visited concepts (and regular exam favourites) to prepare you for the part 2 exam. We appreciate that some of the principles and lab techniques are difficult to learn without the spending a lot of time in the laboratory setting but hopefully this will provide some useful pointers.
While we can't provide all the resources required for copyright reasons, links are provided to essential websites as well as questions which will aid learning. Please contact us if there are any factual errors in the website or if you have any suggestions on content to include - you can do this from the contact page.
The 'Learning' section and the 'Links' section should send you to all the relevant places to equip you with sufficient knowledge to pass the exam. The website will be relatively light on thrombosis and haemostasis for which there is already Practical Haemostasis. The Documents section has a pre-populated spreadsheet which is a good starting point of topics that need to be covered, and for you to make a note of what you have studied and what remains outstanding, and to create your own study timetable.
Please also note that in the current structure of FRCPath, malignant disorders only make up about 10-15% of your exam so allocate your revision time accordingly.
We must issue a disclaimer to say that while we have made every effort to ensure the information is accurate within this website, we cannot be responsible for the consequences of factual errors especially pertaining to exam results or however the information is used.
Good luck!
