Among one of the most famous fighters of World War II, the P-51 Mustang has its roots in both Britain and the USA. Originally overlooked by the USAAF, the P-51 did not see action with American forces until March 1943. Once its full potential had been developed, the USA realized that this aircraft had been ignored for far too long a time. With the forging of the American airframe with the British Rolls Royce Merlin engine, it would be unmatched by any other piston aircraft of World War II.

The first U.S.A.A.F. combat group arrived in Britain in November 1943 and from then until the end of the war, the P-51 earned an enviable reputation as a long-range fighter-escort for the B-17 and B-24 bombers raiding deep in the heart of the German homeland.

This kit is aimed a modellers over the age of 10 but dads and grandads are very welcome!!

Wing span approx 27 3/4 inches (70.49 cm). Scale is approx 1/16 with traditional balsa and tissue construction.

All parts are pre-cut with great accuracy for ease of assembly and final finish.

Whether built for scale or contest flying, these balsa wood airplanes represent the finest in design and flight capability.

Can be flown with one of 3 different power sources:

• • rubber power (all materials and instructions provided)

  • 0.020 gas engine (complete instructions included, but without motor)

  • electric power (complete instructions included, but without motor)
