The Grumman TBF initial production order for 286 planes was placed in the latter part of 1940 and, between 1942 and the end of the 1943, 2, 293 Avenger were built and delivered to the U.S. Navy. It became the Navy standard torpedo-bomber of World War 2 and first saw action on June 4, 1942, at the historic Battle of midway. Used right up to 1954, Avenger also saw service with the Royal Navy, Canadian Royal Navy and the French Aeronavale.

This kit is aimed a modellers over the age of 10 but dads and grandads are very welcome!!

Wing span approx 16 1/2 inches (41.91 cm). Scale is approx 1/32 with traditional balsa and tissue construction.

All parts are pre-cut with great accuracy for ease of assembly and final finish.

Whether built for scale or contest flying, these balsa wood airplanes represent the finest in design and flight capability.

Can be flown with one of 3 different power sources:

• rubber power (all materials and instructions provided)

• 0.020 gas engine (complete instructions included, but without motor)

• electric power (complete instructions included, but without motor)
