In July 2011 Gregory Pappas and Omar Khan published a book, "Megacities and Health" with American Public Health Association Press, That book brings together a number of authors to present a state-of-the-art look at the health issues facing the 24 largest urban places on the globe. Megacities are places with populations of over ten millions. This book is the first systematic study of health in megacities.
The book was launched during November 2011 annual meeting of the APHA to be held in Washington DC.
