Youth Rowing Program

Join Green Mountain Rowing’s for our second annual youth Learn-To-Row program.  We had a successful inaugural first year with coaching in the summer and fall, and look to make it even better in 2024!

We’ll be sculling (one oar in each hand) in 1-person and 2-person boats. This is the sport of crew in boats with sliding seats. Green Mountain Rowing will review with all participants safety, equipment handling, the rowing stroke, and basics of competition. There will be some land training on rowing machines and boat orientation. For safety, we expect all rowers to be able to swim two laps in a pool or wear a PFD while rowing.

Learn from coaches who compete in the sport’s biggest regattas who are experienced coaching junior, collegiate and master athletes. The Lamoille River offers some of the best rowing in the Northeast, right here in Milton. Come explore the river with us! Open to ages 12-18.

The Kickoff Day is Saturday June 22nd, and it will continue 3 times a week for 6 weeks afterwards (Saturday mornings and 2 weeknights).  It is okay if you can't make every session, but we would like athletes to attend at least 2 sessions per week.

Please register HERE . Space is limited.

If you are interested, but the schedule doesn't work this fall, please email us anyways, and we can keep you informed of future programs.
