Hyperscaling violation and entanglement entropy in gauge/string dualities
I'll describe certain lightlike deformations of AdSxS spacetimes that are dual to simple CFT excited states (corresponding to constant energy flux T++). Upon appropriate dimensional reduction, these AdS plane wave spacetimes give rise to gravity backgrounds exhibiting "hyperscaling violation". Some of these AdS plane wave spacetimes exhibit deviations from the area law of entanglement entropy holographically, logarithmic (4-dim SYM) or stronger (3-dim M2-brane CFTs). Similar excited states exist for the nonconformal D-branes as well.
