Generalized T-duality, String Theory and the Real World
We examine the notion of T-duality in string theory from a phase space point of view and then emphasize the concept of Born's reciprocity, a natural generalization of T-duality, which posits the more general duality between spacetime and momentum space. We propose that Born's reciprocity demands a dynamical momentum space, and thus a dynamical phase space, opening up an exciting possibility for new dualities in string theory and new connections to the real world.
