GraysonsWorkshop began with the birth of Grayson in October of 2012.
Prior to Grayson I had made a variety of furniture but with a newborn my interest shifted to things I could make for him.
For Christmas of 2012 my wife and I made 14 stand up hand cut hardwood 4"x6" photo puzzles that we gave as gifts that year. Each puzzle had a different picture. The response from our friends and family convinced us to start this site.
Since then we do several arts and craft shows a year and I teach classes at the Harrisburg Woodcraft. In 2015 one of our original puzzle designs was published in the Holiday issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts. In March of 2015 Grayson's sister Killian was born. She helped me realize that although much of what we make is unisex I should have some items specifically for girls. One of the patterns I designed for her was a butterfly teether. Since then several of my teether designs and several other designs have been published in Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts Magazine.
I think I get the most enjoyment from cutting puzzles. It's always a challenge and I enjoy the feedback when people see our work. We have made many more puzzles than we have had time to photograph and post on this site. So if you saw something at a craft show or on social media that isn't on the website don't worry we'd still be happy to make and ship you one. Many of our toys and puzzles are the result of something suggested by our friends and family. Feel free to become part of our extended family and email us any suggestions or comments.
