Belief Statement and Learning Theorist Chart
I included this assignment because it demonstrated an in-depth research into multiple theorists and drew knowledgeable conclusions about junior age students from that information. It helped me gain a new perspective on pedagogy and educational research, and changed how I would approach teaching junior age students.
Big Idea Chart
I included this assignment even though I found it very tricky to complete, because I think it was very important information to have. As a potential junior age teacher, it forced me to consider not only what curriculum expectations were applicable to me, but also consider where my students have already been and where they needed to go in terms of provincial goals.
Report Cards
I included this assignment because I really enjoyed completing it, as it provided new professional knowledge to someone who has not taught in Canada before. I was able to compare/contrast Ontario's reporting to South Carolina's and England's, and draw my own conclusions. Reading through Growing Success was a huge help in completing the assignment, but also informed my understanding of current policies and legislation in Ontario that I would not have had otherwise.
