Estate Sales Highlands Ranch
Have you recently lost a loved family member and are now in charge of downsizing your parents house full of furniture, china dish sets, and even cars? Most older people have been collecting one thing or another for the past 40 or 50 years. I have been going to estate sales for the past 5 years and garage sales hunting for treasures over looked by others. I often find sterling silver spoons, forks, belt buckles, and coin collections that have precious metals that can quickly be covered into CASH. This money can be used to help pay for household clean up and junk removal. Thousands of the oldest generation pass away every day in the United States leaving unwanted crystal nick-knacks, Hummel figurines and statues, old china dishware patters, lamps and furniture. Going to hundreds of estate sales over the years, on the last day of the sales when items are 50%-80% off give me an excellent idea of when will sell and what is junk or needed to be donated to GoodWill / ARC Thrift stores.
Coin Collections- Younger people don't care about coins and most do not even use cash. Coin collecting is a dying hobby with the average age of collectors getting over 65. Have you been to a coin shop lately? It is a bunch of old guys talking about conspiracy theories and how the federal government will collapse next year..... Coin collections can quickly be valued based on the amount of gold and silver in the coins. Yes there are a few collector coins that can be sold on Ebay one at a time over a few years. This is a hobby, not a money maker ....
Your Mother's wedding ring- Oh my gosh, it's been in your family for 75 years but no one wants to wear it and it is size 4.5. Lets face it, old wedding rings are worth their weight in gold but no more. Very few rings re-sale for more than the value of the gold contents. I have talked to many estate sale re-sellers that have a large collections of estate jewelry that they have been trying to sell for years. Bless their hearts! The day has come that it is time to cash in on the value of the gold. Oh but has a big diamond! If it is a diamond older than 1975 it most likely has an old mine cut that has less sparkle than a modern diamond. Lab grown diamonds are cheaper, better looking, with less inclusions than old natural diamonds. Young brides don't want a dusty old diamond that doesn't sparkle! I am happy to return any stones during the refining process.
14k and 18k gold jewelry from the 70s-80s-90s ... I will admit that some gold rings, necklaces, and pendants are pretty to look at... but why is no one younger than 55 wearing them? They are out of style! If you have not worn a piece of jewelry in the last 5 years there is a 90% chance it will stay in your safe or jewelry box until you pass away. GET CASH NOW FOR YOUR OLD GOLD JEWELRY! What are you waiting for?
Old wrist watches- If it is a Rolex, Omega, Tag Huer, Patek Philippe, or Cartier watch you might have something worth some money. If it is a Seiko, Anne Kline, Timex, or Citizen watch it might be worth 5 to 10 on Ebay. Give me a call to give you a free appraisal of the value of the watch. The watch case is sometimes far more valuable than the watch because of gold content. I recently found an old ladies wrist watch from 1920. It had a 17 jewel movement and was in a beautiful white old case. The watch repair shop wanted $300 to get the watch working again but the watch face was far to small to read and was out of style. The watch case was solid 14k gold as was work $500 in gold.
Lamps, China Cabinets, antique furniture, dolls, books, and other collectibles are just that.... old collectibles. Do you have any friend that collect and display old dolls? Creepy... Grandma's old china cabinet no longer matches any of your modern furniture and the brass lamps have to go! Framed art prints, These are the items that are estate sale left overs... The good stuff goes in the first two hours of a well advertised estate sale. I often treasure hunt looking for Sterling Silver or 925 markings on silver items that have been overlooked by others. If it is plated in silver and is not part of a complete tea set, it can be purchased at any Goodwill or ARCH Thrift store for 2$ to $9. There are a few styles of Sterling silver flatware that can sell for more that the melt value of the silver. Please give me a call so I can help you decide to Cash in or try to Ebay it!
I also have a good relationship with a few estate sale auction houses here in Highlands Ranch and Denver Colorado would be happy to help get your collectible items sold or donated. They typically charge the seller and buyer a 10% to 18% commission.
