Facilities

CLUBHOUSE The clean and tidy clubhouse is airconditioned and has a well equipped kitchen with two fridges, stove, two microwaves and various cooking and eating utensils. Scheme water is available although some prefer to bring their own rainwater.

A whiteboard is available for briefings.

Some additional powerpoints and USB charging points.

The sleeping quarters contain 4 beds (members and guests need to bring their own blankets and linen) and room for personal belongings of visitors and guests.

Showers are available to be used at the nearby sports oval.

The lounge area contains a small aviation library and comfortable chairs.

The airfield is approximately 4 hours drive north of Perth and 1 km from the main part of the Town of Morawa. The easiest way from Perth is to drive through Moora and Three Springs. A shorter specific route is detailed on our contacts page. Go to Google Maps and type in Morawa to see where we are.

COMPUTER Access to the internet is via your own Telstra mobile connection. Many members bring their own laptops and tablets. Prepaid sims and phone deals are best organised before coming to Morawa.

TELEPHONE Telstra has mobile phone coverage in the area.

CARAVAN AREA The Club has a number of powered sites available for short term use by members and gliding visitors.

TOWN AMENITIES Morawa is a small well appointed town and has the following facilities of interest or use to glider pilots:2 supermarkets, Pharmacy, Post Office, Bakery, Petrol Station, swimming pool (closed Mondays), Telecentre for internet use, auto mechanic, hardware store, hotel, social club (cheap meals some Friday and Saturday nights), speedway, golf and bowling course. HANGAR Is large enough for several gliders although it only contains three at the moment. Hangarage for private gliders is available on request.

WORTH SEEING The Town has an outstanding Museum way above what could be expected of a small town. The windmill collection is the largest in the southern hemisphere. Wildflowers are very special to see during July to September.
