Neither birth nor records have been found for Mary May Townley. Cemetery records indicate she was only 7 months of age at the time of her death, so it's assumed she a grandchild of Samuel and Mary though it's unknown which of their sons was Mary May's father.
The realtionship of Mry Montgomery to the Brown and Townley families is unknown. Records show she was born in about 1801 in Ireland. Following the prior death of her husband, she was taken into the home of Francis and Elizabeth Brown. Initially she and Harold Clifford Townley (who was 6 years old when he died) were buried together elsewhere in the cemetery. In 1919 their bodies were re-interred in this family plot.
Martha Ann Townley's brother Frank Smith is buried with much of his family elsewhere in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

This is the file card from Mount Pleasant Cemetery for the complete Brown | Townley family plot. All the rest of the research grew out of the information found on this small document. Oddly, while other Mount Pleasant registers confirm the burial of Samuel Townley, Sr, his name does not appear on this particular document.
