Celtic Heritage Alliance presents the McMinnville Scottish Festival

Originally formed in Newport and vicinity in 2011, the CHA's purpose was to promote the traditional culture of the seven Celtic nations of Brittany, Cornwall, Galicia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland & Wales. Each year, they sponsored Celtic-themed musical, dance, and other cultural events events to fulfill their mission, culminating in their annual Newport Celtic Festival & Highland Games.

Sadly, due to a number of factors, the Newport venue was discontinued some years ago, but the Festival has now returned under a new CHA, and Linfield College in McMinnville was the location of the newly christened McMinnville Scottish Festival which was held June 9-10, 2018 with great success.

CHA President Chris McLaran said; "The college grounds with majestic oak trees, welcoming campus, and central location was a perfect site for our inaugural McMinnville Scottish Festival. We couldn't have found a better local partner than Linfield College."

The CHA is well positioned to continue its mission to promote and preserve Celtic culture and heritage and is excited to carry on many of the events and activities originally hosted in Newport, Oregon.

The CHA wishes to thank all of the volunteers, vendors, participants, sponsors, and patrons over the years who made the Newport-based festival thrive and encourages those who supported the Newport Celtic Festival and Highland Games to enjoy that same rich heritage in the new McMinnville Scottish Festival.

You can visit them on their website or FaceBook.
