The Glebe Guardian

A new superhero is in town -

his name is Wesley, the Glebe Guardian

Before he acts he thinks "What would Jesus do?"

He always tries his best to be good and behave as Jesus would want him to.

He is very caring and patient, looking after people, making friends and saving people.

He is a good leader, showing determination, perseverance, strength and mercy.

His motto is "Everyone can be super at something"

A mouse may be a surprising choice for a superhero, but there are a lot of mice that although appearing to be very small and fairly insignificant have had a big impact.

Some examples:

The Lion and the Mouse, one of Aesop's Fables it has also been retold by Jerry Pinkney

the lion is freed from the net by a mouse

The Chronicles of Narnia, by CS Lewis.

the mice free Aslan, after he has been sacrificed on the stone table

Reepicheep, a talking mouse, appears in a few of the stories and is brave and fearless

The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson

The story of a mouse on a journey who shows his bravery.

These stories can be inspiration to us all - it doesn't matter how small or insignificant we feel, we can make a difference and be a superhero to someone!
