Road

There are 5 races in the summer months - usually May, June, July and August. All races are on Tuesdays starting at 7:30pm. These road races are generally more popular than the winter XC events and in 2015 around 350 runners took part in each race, indeed for 2016 it has been decided to hold the events on courses where it is considered easier to cater for these larger numbers and provide a greater level of safety.

Some of the courses are a single lap and others involve a section that is lapped twice. Unlike the Cross Country events in the winter, men and ladies compete over the same distance - usually around 10 kms.

Results are processed in the same way as the Cross Country events - finishing runners are given a position tag which they then take to a nominated club recorder who writes down the runners name and finishing number. These sheets are later handed to Martyn Jenkins who processes the results and publishes them within a day or two. If the host club has sufficient helpers then the race is also timed.
