26th August 2018: Pembroke Tenneson / Jess Orestano / The Tom Wright Band

Pembroke Tenneson

Inspired by singer-songwriters of the 60s & 70s, some English folk and a dash of the blues, Pembroke’s songs range from humorous takes on the morning commute and academic study to loves won and lost. First noticed by the BBC in Warwickshire in 2015, he enjoys writing in diverse styles, and in the three years he’s been gigging professionally, Pembroke has learned to make dramatic use of his fingerpicked guitar work, harmonica and 4-octave singing voice. He also covers a range of his favourite songs from the Beatles to Simon & Garfunkel, and loves to get audiences singing along.

Early in the year he released his 4th EP, Blue Water, the first release he's made under his own complete creative control. He's hard at work on his next release, an as-yet-untitled full-length album.

Jess Orestano

Jess Orestano is a singer/songwriter from Northants who uses picturesque views as the foundation for her songwriting. These settings are overlaid with lyrics based on her own experiences and experiences of those around her, and caricatures of people she has met throughout her life.

Drawing inspiration from a range of artists, such as Eva Cassidy, Joan Armatrading, Laura Marling, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Don McClean and Joni Mitchell, Jess has way of telling stories through song that will leave you wanting more. Jess also has a repertoire of over 60 covers, ranging from David Bowie, Queen, Michael Jackson and Cat Stevens to Jamie T, Muse, Kings of Leon and Justin Timberlake, in the hope of playing something that will please everyone and also to explore her vocal abilities and guitar technique. With such versatility, Jess enjoys playing at gigs of all kinds for people of all ages and backgrounds.
