I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics of Utrecht University. My research interests are in homotopy theory and derived algebraic geometry. Much of what I do involves the theory of (generalized) Lie algebras and its applications to chromatic homotopy theory. Currently my work is funded by the ERC Starting Grant "Chromatic homotopy theory of spaces" and the NWO Vidi grant "Hopf algebras and periodic homotopy theory".

Homotopy theory forms a significant focus of the Utrecht Geometry Center, which also includes Ieke Moerdijk and Lennart Meier. Previously I was a postdoc at the University of Copenhagen and a PhD student with Jacob Lurie at Harvard University. I spent the 2018 Fall term at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge, UK, and the 2016 Fall term at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics in Bonn. My CV is available upon request.

From 2012 to 2015 I was one of the organizers of the MIT Talbot Workshop. I am currently an organizer of the European Autumn School in Topology (EAST).
