The gas-liquid interfacial mass transfer is greatly underestimated when the chemical reactions at the interface are neglected.
I have run an experimental campaign in Sulzer Chemtech to quantify the absorption rate from a CO2 gas to an amine liquid solution. The graphs depicts the measurements at different F-Factor (gas velocity) and liquid flow rate.
These data will be used as validation for the reactive mass-transfer numerical module of TPLS (the numerical flow solver of UCD and Edinburgh Uni), under implementation.
